Observations
Typography taught me to really pay attention and be disciplined when I design stuff. Now, I can't help but notice fonts everywhere, like in videos or on things at home. I catch myself thinking, "Hmm, that font doesn't look great" or "Why isn't this aligned properly?" It's really funny how much I've changed! Learning typography as a student is realising fonts aren't just pretty, they have rules too. Sometimes I catch myself looking at fonts in videos or products at home instead of focusing on the content. It's funny how my eye for detail has grown. Typography isn't just about making things look nice; it's about following rules while being creative. I've learned to balance creativity with the structured nature of typography, which is different from art. Overall, it's made me more observant and aware of how important letters are in design.
Findings
During this semester, I learned that typography is not just about making things look cool. There are lots of rules and terms to learn, especially about how letters are made. It's not as free as art, where I could do whatever I liked. Sometimes I wanted to break the rules, but I learned that paying attention to details is super important in typography, just like in art. I've made mistakes along the way, but they helped me learn. Understanding typography better has shown me how crucial it is in making things look good.
